Magdalene "Moe" Miranda

Originally from El Paso, Texas, Magdalene “Moe” Miranda is a Minnesota-based acrylic artist whose work explores the body, sexuality, intimacy, imagination & self-expression through bold color & striking forms.

Moe began painting at 16, initially working as an abstract artist. Her early work was heavily influenced by mental health, using abstraction as a way to turn internal experiences into something visual. In 2016, her work began shifting toward what would eventually become her signature erotic color-block style, which has continued to evolve over the years.

Working primarily in acrylic, Moe creates vibrant pieces characterized by saturated color, graphic forms & clean, deliberate lines, occasionally incorporating glitter & other playful details. Her work moves between the sensual & the whimsical, celebrating bodies, pleasure, desire, humor & imagination. Some pieces also draw inspiration from BDSM & kink, approaching those worlds with an emphasis on beauty, intimacy & celebration rather than vulgarity.

After spending most of her life in the Southwest, Moe relocated to Minnesota in the fall of 2022, where she continues to develop her style & explore new directions in her work.
